DAY 1: CASABLANCA
Your driver will be picking you up from the airport and depending on your arrival time he will be taking you either to your hotel to rest or take you on a tour to the Hassan ll mosque which is considered to be the largest religious monument in Morocco and the 7th in the world with the tallest minaret at 210 meters.
Since you are spending the night in Casablanca this tour can be done the next day after breakfast.
Dinner will be served at your hotel or riad in Casablanca.
DAY 2: CASABLANCA – MEKNES – VOLUBILIS - FES
Meknes will be your next destination which is one of the imperial cities of Morocco.
This city is considered to be the accomplishment of one of the supreme Sultans in the history of Morocco, “Moulay Ismail”. Throughout this visit you will be getting the opportunity to find out all what this imperial city has to offer with its several tall minarets, massive extension of walls and monumental gates scrolling through Bab el Khemis and the old medina to get to the Islamic cemetery which takes us to the entrance of the old Mellah or like it’s known “the Jewish Quarter”.
Before leaving we will be stopping by one of the most significant and stunning gateway of the city which is Bab el Mansour.
You will have plenty of time to have lunch at this imperial city before we head to our next destination.
On our way to Fes where you will be spending the night we will be making a rich and exotic stop at the Roman ruins of Volubilis or as it’s referred to it now by “Oualili”.
It was recently recognized by the UNESCO as a world heritage site for its breathtaking archeological sites standing still and proving the greatness of the Roman Empire decked out with colorful strips and stunning mosaics.
Dinner will be served in Fes at your riad or hotel.
DAY 3: FES (PRIVATE GUIDED TOUR)
An exciting experience awaits you today since your guide will be taking you on a private tour throughout the narrow and fascinating streets of the old medina of Fes after you get your breakfast in your hotel or riad.
The old medina is the largest and oldest dynamic square in the world, even bigger than the one in Marrakech.
You will be visiting the royal palace which is the oldest and largest in Morocco, then head to the Jewish quarter or like the locals calls it “The Mellah” Something fascinating about this place is that it is officially the first Jewish quarter in Morocco and its fortified walls are standing still until now a days. During your tour you will be given a whole historical idea concerning the Jewish empire that has lived in this imperial city starting since the 14th century and more specifically since the year of 1438 when the first Mellah was officially established.
After this presentation is over we will be heading to discover more about the fascinating old medina of Fes and our next stop will be the Tanneries, crossing the fruits and vegetables outdoor market while witnessing the locals buying their daily needs for their delicious cooking then we take you to the Quaraouine University which is the Oldest existing, Continually operating and the first degree Awarding educational institution in the world according to the UNESCO and Guinness World Records.
Once we finish with this part of the medina we head to The Moulay Idriss Mausoleum then to the Nejarine Square.
Our journeying of the old part of the medina of Fes doesn’t stop here so we will take you through the Attarine streets where you will be captivated by the diversity of the scents of oils and spices, you will also get the chance to witness a demonstration of the making of modern and traditional carpets and scarves in a local carpet manufacturing before we take you to The Madrasa Bou Inania strongly acknowledged as a great example of the Merinid architecture.
Once your tour is over you will have a free evening to enjoy further more this fascinating city until it’s time for your dinner at your hotel or riad in Fes where you will be spending the night.
DAY 4: FES - MIDDLE ATLAS- ERFOUD- RISSANI - MERZOUGA
Today’s journey will be taking you on a whole new level of travelling and excitement since our next destination is the Saharan desert and specially Merzouga where you will be spending the night.
On our way you will be crossing the spectacular Middle Atlas Mountains through Imouzegh, Ifran or the Switzerland of Morocco. We will also be stopping at one amazing spot considered to be the home of the monkeys “Macaque” in the cedar forest and other sights which your driver will offer you the chance to visit so you can get a better idea of the amazing sites our beautiful Morocco has to offer.
Before we get to Merzouga we will be making a stop in Midelt which is considered to be a neat break between Fez and the desert and where you will be enjoying lunch so that way you will get to take a break from the road and get refreshed to keep going to Merzouga.
The landscape offers some breathtaking views, especially of the eastern High Atlas.
You will be amazed by all the architectural landscapes that cover most of the villages we will be passing by like the Ziz Valley, Errachidia and Erfoud before getting to our last stop which is Merzouga of course where you will be spending the night.
DAY 5: MERZOUGA (VISIT OF RISSANI)
Once you finish your breakfast you will get the chance to live one amazing journey since we will be heading to Rissani where you will be having lunch.
This is by far considered to be a special treat on its own since you will be living one friendly local experience with the locals of the region and enjoying with them one of their signature dish which is “El Medfouna” or the Berber Pizza.
After lunch we will head back to Merzouga where you will be spending the night, but this time you are in for a special surprise since you will be welcomed by a local guide who will take you on a camel trekking to enjoy one amazing sunset through the sand dunes to get to your camp where your dinner will be served under the countless stars of the desert while assisting a one of a kind folkloric show synchronized by the locals.
A one of a lifetime experience that you won’t forget is awaiting you since you will be spending the night in luxury tent under the stars.
DAY 6: MERZOUGA – SKOURA
As for today we have scheduled for you an early treat since we advise you to wake up a bit early so you can enjoy one stunning sunrise over the dunes and take in one mesmerizing view you can only live in the Moroccan Saharan desert.
After this early morning show you will be back riding your camels to your hotel in Merzouga so you can get refreshed and get ready to head to Skoura where you will be spending the night.
After leaving Merzouga we will be heading to the heart of Jbel Sarhro called the Todgha Gorges where you will have lunch with a local Berber family and get you the chance to live one authentic local experience.
Your driver will be taking you through the Daraa Valley on road to Sekoura Palmary so you can catch a breathtaking sunset and take some marvelous pictures. This road used to be the way the old caravans transported dates and other dried fruits and handcrafts jewels to Marrakech.
Dinner will be served in Sekoura in your hotel or riad.
DAY 7: SKOURA – (VALLEY OF ROSES VISIT)
Once you get your breakfast you will have the chance to discover more about Skoura and go further to learn more about the magnificent Valley of roses and what this place has to offer.
You will get to enjoy a good time with the locals and learn more about this fascinating place and how this small region is actually the main producer of Rose water you find all over the Moroccans cities and villages and which is used for other products as well as hand and body soaps, cream, oil, perfumes and dried rose flowers.
Skoura is a beautiful fertile Oasis, 35 km east of Ouarzazate in the Dades valley, or Valley of a thousand Kasbahs as it is known. Running along the edges of its two seasonal rivers, its appearance can be deceptive as it runs mainly to the north of the main road, However once you get off the road you discover that Skoura is very large and that what appeared to be just a line of trees is actually a huge and flourishing oasis, perfect for long peaceful and mesmerizing walks.
Once your tour is over you will be taken back to a riad in the heart of Sekoura where you will be spending the night and enjoying a nice charming dinner to get you ready for your next day.
DAY 8: SKOURA - OUARZAZAZATE - AIT BENHADDOU - MARRAKECH
Before we leave the desert heading to Marrakech or the pearl of Morocco where you will be spending the night and having dinner, today’s journey takes us to another side of the Moroccan Sahara.
After breakfast we will be heading to Ouarzzate through the Tizin Tichka pass, making a stop at the Ait ben Hadou Kasbah so you can go deeper in the Moroccan desert.
Ouarzazat or like it’s also called “the door of the desert”, is mainly occupied by Berbers who constructed many of the important Kasbahs and buildings for which this place is known.
Over the time it has become an important holiday destination in Morocco and a base for excursions across the Draa Valley and Ait Benhaddou that has become a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The Ouarzazate studios area is one of the largest movie studios in the world in terms of land and a famous location for film making which has invited many international companies to work here and film several historical movies including Mission Cleopatra, Lawrence of Arabia, The Man Who Would Be King, Kingdom of Heaven and Babel and Asterix & Obelix.
Once we arrive to Marrakech your desert journey is officially over, but only to create a start to a new experience within the imperial city of Marrakech where you will be spending the night and having dinner.
DAY 9: MARRAKECH (PRIVATE GUIDED TOUR)
Today after you enjoy your breakfast in your hotel or riad, your guide will be taking you on one remarkable private tour of Marrakech which includes the Majorelle Gardens, El Koutoubia Mosque, the Jewish Mellah or quarter, and The Saadians Tomb.
Your tour will start by the Majorelle Garden which is one of the most visited sites in Morocco. It took French painter Jacques Majorelle (1886-1962) forty years of passion and dedication to create this delightful garden in the heart of the “Ochre City”. In 1947 he opened his gardens to the public and, through this period he also painted a glorious ceiling at The Mamounia hotel.
Afterwards we will be heading to The Koutoubia Mosque which is the largest one in Marrakesh; the mosque is ornamented with curved windows, a band of ceramic inlay, and decorative arches with a large plaza overflowing with magnificent gardens.
Once we finish with this historical mosque we will head to the Jewish quarter or Mellah Founded in 1558 by Moulay Abdallah, your guide will be walking you through this entire district and giving you a full resume concerning the history of this area including the Jewish culture and presence in Morocco.
Your tour will continue on to the Saadian Tomb which dates back to the Sultan Ahmad al-Mansur (1578-1603) and which were only discovered in 1917. Once discovered they were restored by the Beaux-Arts service and because of the beauty of their decoration, they have been a major attraction for visitors in Marrakech.
You will be taken back to your hotel or riad after this guided visit of Marrakech and enjoy the rest of the day at your free paste.
Dinner will be served at your hotel or riad.
DAY 10: MARRAKECH - CASABLANCA AIRPORT
After you enjoy your breakfast your driver will be picking you up and driving you back to Casablanca airport.
